Counselor-In-Training Program

JOIN OUR 2024 COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING PROGRAM!

The application cycle for Summer 2025 has closed!

The CIT Program at 6 Points is a hands-on leadership experience that allows you to learn, try new things, and grow as a person and a future staff member at camp! The program is designed to build your professional resume too!

CIT PROGRAM GOALS:

To create opportunities for personal & professional growth.
To provide hands on work experience in childcare.
To get a jump-start on your coaching career by learning techniques from our professional coaches.
To offer a meaningful transition from “camper” to “staff member”.
To provide opportunities to participate in Tikkun Olam (repairing the world).
To have a positive and rewarding summer, give back to the 6 Points community, and impact camp in a meaningful way.

PROGRAM ELEMENTS:

Necessary Skill Training—CITs will participate in programming to develop skills to be a staff member. Training is designed to support CITs as they transition from camper to staff member. Topics will include: homesickness, camper inclusion, how to identify and prevent bullying, development of camper listening skills, health and safety, how to lead programming, and hands-on counseling experience and opportunities to build relationships and serve as role models for younger campers. CITs also help run drills and lead large group activities in sports majors. They will work hands-on with our counselors, coaches and leadership team, who will support and mentor them throughout the summer.

Sports Participation: CITs will participate in their sport majors during Session 1. Sport major time will transition with an emphasis on coaching younger campers.

CIT Program Highlights: Participants during the summer will have exciting and unique activities to CITs. Highlights include offsite Tikkun Olam projects, planning CIT Shabbat, Intersession, and working alongside camp staff!

Social Activities: Throughout the summer, CITs will participate in social activities (free time, open gym, evening programs, etc.)
