At 6 Points Sports Academy, Judaism integrates seamlessly into everything we do. We are always Jewish, always sports, and always camp. This means we never stop being Jewish to be athletes and we never stop being athletes to be Jewish. Our core values, everyday moments, and Shabbat experiences make our Jewish Sports Camp unique. Explore all the ways Judaism integrates into all we do at 6 Points Sports Academy below:
Our Core Values

Leadership is encouraging others to be their best selves.

Intention is approaching everything you do with purpose.

Pride is having confidence in who you are as a person, athlete, and Jew.

Teamwork is elevating your team, community, and the world through intentional actions and choices.

Growth is being a better person today than yesterday.

Sportsmanship is approaching the game with integrity, compassion, respect, and fairness.
Everyday Moments
Morning Stretch
Athletes thrive on routine and our daily routine begins with morning stretch! After chanting our boker tov (good morning) greeting, we stretch, sing modeh ani to give thanks to our new day, and off to breakfast we go!
Milat HaYom
Mi-mi-milat HaYom! What is the word today? Milat HaYom is our hebrew word of the day introduced by our campers and counselors during lunch. It’s a fun, silly way to learn relevant hebrew words!
Value of the Day
Each morning, we introduce one of our six core values: sportsmanship, teamwork, growth, pride, intention, and leadership. Through Jewish stories and video examples from the sports world, we introduce our campers to the importance of these values as Jewish athletes. Throughout the day, campers put these values into action on the courts, fields, studio, and in the pool.
Value Bracelet Ceremony
At the end of sport major training sessions and on Shabbat, counselors and coaches recognize campers who went above and beyond to demonstrate the value of the day. Our community wears these bracelets with immense pride and camp and throughout the year.
Mealtime Blessings
Each meal begins with HaMotzi, and we conclude meals with Birkat HaMazon. We recite these blessings with lots of ruach (spirit) and have many hand motions to accompany the prayers.
Siyum
Siyum is our closing ceremony each day. The entire camp gathers in the gym at the end of evening sport majors and forms two giant circles, arm in arm. We reflect on the value of the day and sing Sh’ma and Hashkiveinu before returning to the dorms to prepare for bedtime.
Shabbat
Shabbat at 6 Points Sports Academy is an incredible experience and often a favorite part of camp among our campers. After training hard in their sport majors, campers welcome the well-deserved time to rest their bodies and come together as one community.
On Friday evenings, everyone dresses in white and joins as an entire camp for a special Shabbat dinner followed by a spirit-filled services, song session, and camp fire.
Our evening concludes with the value bracelet ceremony in which each dorm group recognizes campers who have gone above and beyond to exemplify one of our six core values.
Tikkun Olam 5K
Tikkun Olam (repair the world) is a central value of Judaism. On the second Saturday of each session, our community participates in a 5K to raise money and awareness for local organizations in Asheville. Support our cause by purchasing a Tikkun Olam 5K t-shirt each spring!
Electives
Saturdays are active days at camp, even though we take a break from our sports majors. Campers select one elective on Shabbat. It’s a perfect opportunity to try something new!
Israel Day
Our 12 Israeli counselors create an Israel Day celebration on the first Saturday of each session to teach us about their favorite aspects of Israeli culture and society.
Camp Champs
Get ready to take the stage with your dorm group! During the first week of camp, campers and their counselors choreograph an original piece which is performed for the entire camp! Who will be crowned champions this summer?
