Meals + Nutrition

The spirit of camp revolves around our Chadar Ochel (dining hall). Campers eat with their counselors and dorm group, adding to the feeling of family and community. Each morning, we learn about the Value of the Day, and at lunchtime, we celebrate birthdays and have spirited song sessions.

Friday nights we have a festive Shabbat camp meal, followed by lively services and a song session. Everyone enjoys chocolate babka and s’mores for dessert! We say Hamotzi (blessing over the meal) before we eat and chant Birkat Hamazon (grace after meals) after we eat. Our food is prepared with love and served buffet style. Our meals are prepared on campus by SAGE Dining Services. Meat and dairy are not served together at meals, and we do not serve pork or shellfish (or products containing them). We do serve kosher meat by request to campers and staff who keep kosher, though we do not have a kosher kitchen. When meat is served, vegetarian options are offered, and a non-dairy dessert is served. Campers who require special allergy or health-related diets are easily accommodated. If you have any questions about our summer meal program or your child’s dietary limitations, please call the camp office.

In keeping with our goals of developing the whole camper, 6 Points promotes healthy eating. At breakfast, cold cereal, fresh cut fruit, Greek yogurt, milk and orange juice are available alongside the hot option.  Fresh fruit, an extensive salad bar with protein options, and soy butter and jelly are available at lunch and dinner. We offer vegetarian, gluten-free, and lactose-free options.

6 Points Sports Academy is a peanut, tree nut, and nut oil-free camp.

We strive to serve all of our campers’ dietary needs by offering a wide variety of meal options. We provide a safe environment for campers with food allergies and always have a complete list of ingredients of our meals at the start of each buffet line and on hand. Please call our office to discuss any specific food questions.
