Jillian grew up in Weston, FL where she spent most of her youth heavily involved in sports, namely basketball. The sport has taken her many places including San Diego, California where she spent the summer competing in the Maccabi Games with Team Boca, overseas to the Czech Republic as the Video Coordinator for the USA Women’s U17 Team, and most recently to Washington, DC as the Director of Operations for The George Washington University women’s basketball program.
Growing up in South Florida, Jillian was born and raised a University of Florida Gator fan which led her to Gainesville where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications. Though she didn’t play basketball collegiately, she was lucky enough to work with the University of Florida women’s basketball team her senior year. The connections she made there led her to her job in the Nation’s Capital and allowed her the opportunity to work and go to school simultaneously; she received her Master’s Degree in Public Relations from GWU in 2016.
Following a three-year stint in DC, Jillian was ready to start a new chapter in her life and knew she wanted to continue working in athletics and with youth. Fortunately, she reconnected with her long-time Maccabi friend, Danny Herz, and landed a job as an assistant basketball coach at URJ 6 Points Sports Academy. She quickly (and deeply) fell in love with not only the camp life, but the people she worked with and is elated to be joining the staff full time!
While she’s not out traveling/recruiting more awesome Jewish athletes for camp, Jillian enjoys spending time with her family (especially her 2-year-old niece!), hanging out with her four-legged fur child, Dexter, and visiting her old collegiate stomping grounds- especially on Gator football weekends!
