One time is an accident. Two times is a coincidence. Three times, and something becomes habit. We, at 6 Points Sports Academy are embarking on our third session, where traditions are starting to take shape and we are making a routine out of the incredible (and the challenging!) from our past four weeks.
When we opened our camp two sessions ago, we knew that we had a lot to learn. We were going to make some mistakes, and we were going to have the opportunity to build something out of nothing, to create a meaningful place where one had never existed before. Now, as our third set of kids get settled in, we know what to expect, and we can be even more thoughtful about what we want to do to change their lives for the better.
Four weeks of hard work is culminating in this two week home-stretch. It would be easy to get tired, to settle in and survive. But that isn’t how 6 Points California’s staff operates. We are returning to our daily values, those set of concepts that center us in everything we do and ensure that we are always bringing our best.
Today’s value was Work Ethic, musar avodah. We know what it means to work hard, to ignore our tired bodies and to push through. We are going to do everything in our power to make this the best session in our history, and continuously work hard to ensure that we are paving the way for the future of #6PointsCA; one where we can all say, “I was there … I built that camp!” It is a very bright future, indeed.
